Family Resource Center - Board of Directors

Berlin Carroll (Chair)

Berlin is currently employed as Director of Treatment & Detention Services at Allen County Juvenile Court.  In the past Berlin has held positions at the Allen County Juvenile Court that include the Juvenile Corrections Officer, Program Manager, Academic Specialist, Probation Supervisor and Probation Officer.  Berlin’s community involvement includes; part-time Lieutenant at Bath Township Fire Department, member of Dive Rescue Team for Allen County Sheriff’s Office, member of Reentry Coalition of West Central Ohio, member of Allen County Regional Planning Commission’s “Fatal Accident Safety Review Team,” member of the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police, Chief Advisor for F.O.P. Law enforcement Explorers Post 2021, youth basketball coach for Bath Local Schools, Adjunct Professor at James A. Rhodes State College, Instructor at Apollo Career Center in Adult Education, and active participation in the Boy Scouts of America. Berlin has been an FRC Board member since 2011.


Tim Kruse (Vice-Chair)

Tim is currently employed at the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home as a greeter.  Tim is a retired educator who was the Superintendent of the Vanlue Local School District for seven years (2000-2007) and Principal for Liberty Benton Elementary for fifteen years (1985-2000).  Between 1970 and 1985 he was employed as an Elementary School Teacher in the Columbus Public Schools, Lima City, Hardin-Northern Local and Bluffton Exempted Village schools.  He served as the Administrator of the Hancock County Alternative Opportunity Center form 2000-2007.  Tim was employed by FRC as the Summer School Teacher and Mental Health Specialist for the Residential Treatment Program.  He also worked with FRC to train Middle School Teachers about the Second Step program offered by FRC.  Tim volunteers his time to various organizations.  Tim has served on the Board of Directors of the Hancock Federal Credit Union as the Chair, Vice-Chair and Personnel Committee Chair.  Tim also served as the Co-Chair of the Education Committee of Hancock County Prescription Drug Abuse Task Force and as a Trustee of the Point at Brookstone Condo Association.  Tim has been an FRC Board member since 2013.


Chad King (Treasurer)

Chad is a lifelong resident of Lima, Ohio and is currently employed with Chase Bank.  Chad previously worked as a Business Banking Officer and Residential Mortgage Originator with Citizens National Bank of Bluffton.  Chad currently serves on the Board of the ALL Teddy Bear Fund, Inc., where he previously served as the Treasurer and President.  He also serves on the Shawnee County Club Board of Governors and the Family Selection Committee for Habitat For Humanity. Chad joined the FRC Board in 2015.


Darlene Mack (Secretaray)

Darlene is currently employed as a School Counselor with the Findlay City Schools and co-owns the family business with her husband.  Darlene is a past board member for New Rigel Schools and for the Sentinal Board of Education.  She is currently pursuing her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership.  Darlene joined the FRC Board in 2013.


Kimberly Totten  

Kim is currently employed as a registered nurse with Hardin Memorial Hospital.  Kim has been employed as an ICU nurse with Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus and Honda as an Occupational Health Nurse.  Kim volunteers as a nurse for Kids Camp held at Abundant Life Assembly of God.  In the past Kim has volunteered at Kenton City Schools and for Dream Centers Ministry. 


Matthew Metzger

Matt has been employed with Metzger Financial Services as an Investment Advisor Representative.  Matt previously held the position of Assistant Basketball Coach for the University of Northwestern Ohio.  Matt participates with the YMCA Heritage Club and for six years has been an On Air Personality and the Co-host of Saturday Morning “SportsRap” on 93.1 The Fan.  Matt joined the FRC Board in 2015.


Larry James

Larry is retired from American Trim, LLC, where he worked in various capacities for 36 years. Larry also served in the military in the U.S. Army Security Agency.  Larry is currently the the Commander of the Wapakoneta Chapter #73 Disabled American Veterans, the Board Treasurer of the Lima Sabres Shooting Association, Inc., and the Vice-Chariperson of the Pusheta Township Zoning Appeals Board.  He is also a current member of the Wapakoneta Breakfast Optimist Club.  Larry has served on the Board of the Auglaize County District Public Library, Mental Health Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties and Mercy Unlimited, Inc., in Wapakoneta.  Larry has also been involved with various committees and chairmanships that include the First United Methodist Church in Wapakoneta and was the Chairman of the Wapakoneta Community Thanksgiving Dinner Committees.


 
Dr. Thomas Hull

Dr. Hull has worked in the private, non-profit and public sectors for 33 years as a Social Worker, Clinical Counselor and Psychologist.  Dr. Hull has volunteered as a Consultant for schools, agencies and volunteer organizations.  In the past, Dr. Hull served 10 years on the FRC Board of Directors and has returned to serve on the FRC Board of Directors in 2017.
