DINA School

This child-centered portion of The Incredible Years curriculum is a social skills program for groups of children between ages 3 and 8.  The program uses life-size puppets, practice activities, role plays, and games to teach children appropriate social and emotional skills.  The children learn a variety of skills such as: introductions; listening and following directions; identifying and expressing feelings appropriately; anger management; cooperation; teamwork; and friendship skills.

Along with the group sessions, parent notes are provided to strengthen the home-group connection.  These notes are sent home with the children to communicate the day’s lesson topic and provide suggestions of how to follow up on that skill at home.
Teaching staff may request classroom activities that reinforce the lessons presented.

Target Population: Preschool/child care groups with children ages 3 – 8, Kindergarten – Grade 2 classrooms
Program Length: A minimum of ten, half-hour sessions on a mutually agreed-upon regular schedule
