5 Tips For Parents As Summer Break Begins

Although summer break can be unbelievably exciting for kids, us parents know that this comes with some pretty major changes in our daily routine. So how do we manage? Here are some tips that may help with making this transition!

1. Try to keep a regular routine/schedule. Routines are vital for kids to maintain a certain level of structure throughout the summer so the transition back to school is easier.

2. Lean on your support network. Going from the kids being gone a majority of the day to being home the entire day can be really stressful, so lean on those around you to support both you and your kids!

3. Plan some adventures! There are a lot of low to no cost local resources that could be a great opportunity for you and your kids to spend some quality time together during the summer break!

4.  Check out some local summer group programs! There are a lot of summer groups being ran throughout the community that would be a great opportunity for kids to engage with others (and also give parents a well-deserved break!).

5. Make sure to still spend time taking care of you! Let’s be honest, parenting is hard, so it is unbelievably important to dedicate time to small rewards for working so hard being a parent!
