I'm A Dad, Is Therapy Right For Me?
Let’s be honest: Being a dad is a lot. You expect yourself to provide, protect, teach, lead, and somehow always have the answers. But what happens when you don’t? What happens when the stress builds up, the fuse gets shorter, and the beer after work turns into two, then three, then… well, you know.
If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t think I’m being the dad I want to be,” you're not alone. And more importantly, you’re not broken. You’re human.

The Pressure We Don’t Talk About
For generations, men have been told that being strong means being silent, and that bottling up emotions is just part of the job of being a man. But, here’s the truth: silence isn’t strength. It’s stress in disguise.
That stress doesn’t just sit quietly, either. It leaks out, through angry outbursts, unhealthy habits, sleepless nights, and sometimes through that quiet voice that says: “You’re not enough.”
80% of people who die by suicide in Ohio are men, and it’s not because men are weaker. It’s because men are less likely to talk about what they’re struggling with.
Therapy Isn’t Weakness, It’s Strategy
Think of therapy like giving your car a tuneup. You don’t wait for the check engine light to come on, you get it tuned up regularly because you want it to run better, last longer, and get you where you want to go.
Therapy is the same. It’s not just for people in crisis, it’s for people who want tools. Tools to manage stress, respond instead of react, or drink less. Tools to be the kind of dad you want to be, the one your kids look up to not because you’re tough, but because you’re real.
You Don’t Have To Do This Alone
If you’re reading this and feeling that tug in your chest, that mix of guilt, hope, and hesitation, lean into it. That’s not weakness, that’s courage showing up. You might not know what to expect from therapy. That’s okay. You don’t have to show up with the right words or a polished story. All you have to do is show up, and we’ll meet you there.
